PUMA’s sprint pedigree speaks for itself. Usain Bolt rewrote the record books in PUMA spikes. The evoSPEED Sprint is the brand’s long-running mid-price sprint spike, and we’ve recommended earlier versions in both our best sprint spikes and cheap sprint spikes guides.
What we like is the comfort. The plate doesn’t run the full length of the shoe, and a padded EVA heel means you can walk around the track without feeling like you’re on ice. The seamless upper wraps the foot with a sock-like feel, and the Pebax plate with eight pins gives plenty of traction. Because the plate isn’t aggressive, it’s also an excellent choice for the sprint hurdles.
The current evoSPEED Sprint 14.5 is the latest evolution of the line, with a more comfortable, breathable lining at the back of the foot.
Who it’s for: sprinters and hurdlers wanting a comfortable, affordable spike for training and racing.
