The Sprintstar is probably the most popular junior sprint spike on the market, and for good reason. It’s an adidas spike at a price that suits a first pair, and it gets the basics right: grip, comfort and a secure fit.
In our best spikes for 100m guide we picked it as our budget favourite. With no carbon or high-tech foam, the plate is more flexible, which lets the foot move naturally and actually makes it a great training spike for more experienced athletes too. The soft collar protects the Achilles, and the mesh upper keeps feet cool on hot track days.
You can use it for all the sprints and hurdles. We wouldn’t recommend it for long jump, as the heel offers little support for take-off. See our junior running spikes guide for more options.
Who it’s for: beginners, juniors and anyone wanting an affordable training spike.
