The Air Zoom Victory brought super-shoe technology to middle distance spikes, and it’s been on the feet of championship finalists ever since. In our Nike Air Zoom Victory review we called it insanely responsive and comfortable: the combination of ZoomX foam, an Air Zoom unit and a carbon plate gives a soft landing and aggressive propulsion at the same time.
Nike engineered it for distances from 800m to 5000m, and in our 800m, 1500m and long distance spikes guides it was our top pick each time. The only real caveats are the price and a footing that takes a few sessions to adjust to.
The Victory 2 refines the original with a four-spike layout and a lighter, more responsive plate material, keeping the carbon Flyplate, ZoomX midsole and a two-chamber forefoot Air unit.
Who it’s for: competitive 800m to 5000m runners who want the best spike available.
