The Adizero Ambition is adidas’s out-and-out speed spike for middle distance, built to maximise pace in the 800m, 1500m and steeplechase. In our best 800m spikes guide we liked the combination of an aggressive spike plate and Lightstrike Pro cushioning: it feels fast and snappy, yet still gives some protection over multiple rounds.
An internal wishbone plate keeps your stride efficient, and the ventilated textile upper is light and breathable. It’s a specialist race spike, so runners who prefer a softer, more forgiving ride will be happier in the Avanti or Distancestar.
