Many of you will be wondering when you can use a running track again, as you can see from the image below. Outdoor sports facilities can open from the 29th of March.
Please be aware this date could change depending on various factors which the government will outline. So if anything does change, I will update this page.
For some events, the impact wouldn’t be too detrimental, but for the more technical events like jumps, throws and sprints, many of those athletes will be itching to get back on the track.
Those athletes fortunate enough to live close enough to an indoor athletics track. You need to wait until the 12th of April before those facilities open up, and when they do, they will be restricted to individual users or within your household only.
How many people can I train with?
A few things to note on how you can train from March the 29th.
Organised outdoor athletics running activity within a covid secure environment can occur for both children and adults. In this situation, There has to be a groups sizes of 12 athletes to one coach.
There is no limit on the number of groups a coach can take, and they just have to be separate.
However, if you are partaking in unorganised outdoor activity which doesn’t feature a coach, you can only train in a group no larger than 6.
I’m sure everyone is itching to get back running at an athletics track to salvage any chance of running PB’s in the coming season.
