adidas has made some of our favourite throwing shoes. In our shot put shoes guide we liked that adidas’s design lets you comfortably use both the glide and rotation technique. The rubber sole is smooth enough to spin, but still grips when you need it.
It’s designed flat enough for glide throwers too. Some shoes curve up at the edges of the sole, which hinders balance, and that’s not a problem here. A Velcro strap locks the foot down and stops unwanted lateral movement. The Throwstar is adidas’s current affordable throwing shoe.
Who it’s for: beginner and developing throwers who use either technique.
