Primarily built for the speed events you can also use this shoot for the longer distances and even up to 800m.
Another fantastic feature of these spikes is the soft collar of the shoe which protects the Achilles whilst your sprinting.
With a reinforced upper mesh which allows for great ventilation of the foot.
The Adizero SprintStar is of course well built, but not as aggressive as other Adidas options like Adizero Finesse or the Adizero Prime. But they are perfect options for Athlete looking for a great pair of first-time spikes.
Comfort
Because the SprintStar Comes with the Adidas SPRINTWEB mesh. It makes a for very lightweight and breathable. Along with the synthetic overlays, it will hold the fort while you’re sprinting along with the soft ankle collar makes it a comfortable shoe to run in.

Adidas Adizero Avanti
The Adizero Avanti Is an extremely lightweight performance-based Adidas running shoe. The Avanti has fantastic energy return from the track, Which in turn should prevent you from getting fatigue quicker. As I mentioned in the Best Sprint Spikes Article. You spend many hours trying to be the best you can be so don’t waste any energy by choosing poor running shoes.
The spike plate comes with four pins, So you have more than enough traction and it’s a perfect mix of lightweight performance with cushioning to protect your foot and ankle.
Comfort
Being extremely lightweight, These bikes are a great option for those athletes looking to obtain optimum performance without being I slowed down by excess weight. Like a majority of spikes that comes with a breathable mesh. Which we all know it’s important for long-distance athletes putting in those miles.
The midsole of these spikes come with a foam material. Which I found is extremely comfortable to run with but doesn’t hamper the spring feeling you need while trying to change pace.
Also due to the SprintWeb the spikes fit like a glove around your foot.
Value For Money
Recommended for middle-distance as well as 10K athletes. They are very stylish and durable spikes with a mid-range price tag so I feel there will be a great shoe for a wide range of athletes.
Adizero MD
As the MD in the title of these spikes suggests they are targeted more at the middle-distance athletes. Very similar to the Adizero Finesse But comes with a few other features like Addition of heel support, while maintaining the flat midsole. As you can see from the image the upper part of the shoe has a very breathable mesh material. These were the Model of spikes in David on the dishier wall to win the 2012 Olympic 800 m title and set a new world record in the process.
Comfort
Probably one of the most comfortable pairs of Adidas running spikes on the market. This is mainly due to the EVA Cushioning which comprises the insole of the shoe. With the addition of the synthetic microfibres help give it a really nice fit. The other part of the shoe as I mentioned is a mesh which is breathable to reduce the sweat from the foot.
Grip
Another one of Adidas points which is home to the SPRINTFRAME construction along with the Pebax plate Which contains a six pin configuration. The Adizero MD does have great grip, which will come in very handy for those athletes taking part in the steeplechase event.
Value For Money
The Adizero MD is slightly more expensive than the previous two spikes I have listed. As the price suggests it’s a high-performance spike which covers a huge amount of events. For example, you’ll find athletes Where in the spikes to take part in the 800m, 1500m, 3K & 5K. Also, athletes, nursing foot injuries may want to use these in events like the 400m.
Distancestar Adidas Running Spikes
These spikes really do have it all when it comes to running distance events on the track. They are lightweight & very comfortable. As they are going to be used for putting the miles in on the track they have to withstand a lot of punishment. With the ADIWEAR Technology in the heel, Makes the spikes very resistant to absorption.
Comfort
As I mentioned earlier they are very lightweight coming in at a sleek 5.4 ounces. The Distancestar Are made for most surfaces distance athletes will face. So, if your next event is on the track, Cross-country or road these can cover it all. Now, many of you will be wondering how are you can also run on the road with these spikes? The pins within the shoe can be removed, and the support for the foot will still be fine to run on the road itself.
Now because the running shoes are so lightweight, with a slightly more flexible hold of the foot, some athletes may not find them as comfortable as other options.

Adizero Finesse
The Adidas Adizero Finesse is one of my all-time favourite Adidas running spikes as I covered in my best sprint spikes blog post. I will cover a short description of the Adizero Finesse spikes here, but I’ve gone into a lot more detail within my review.
With it being one of the top sprints spikes available on the market today. They are designed to give the athlete maximum energy return from the track. They come with the famous Adidas SPRINTWEB upper, which includes air mesh for ventilation.
The spikes also come with a material called microsuede on the inside of the shoe. Which increases the durability in the areas of high tension whilst sprinting. The spike plate is powerful and aggressive. Which is better suited for sprinters running short distances between 60m up to 400m.
Comfort
They are extremely comfortable expressly when running flat-out as that is what the spikes are designed for. They are made from all the best materials to give the athlete maximum comfort. With as little added weight as possible.
Grip
The spike plate for this particular pair of spikes is one of the best in the business. It’s flexible enough so you feel more than comfortable running round the bend. Not too stiff so it feels like your foot is being forced into an unnatural position.
It’s home to six truncated spikes on each shoe, which gives the athlete good traction while minimising friction.
Value For Money
The Adizero Finesse isn’t cheap. But they aren’t stupidly expensive like the Adizero Prime. They’ll be a good choice for any sprinter if you tend to run multiple sprint distances. They are versatile meaning you can use them for the flat sprints as well as the hurdles and feel very comfortable doing both.
How I Broke The Adidas Running Spikes
Adidas is a massive company as we all know, As they are able to invest huge amounts of money in the research, design and production teams. Giving them the ability to release a massive amount of difference spike options for a huge number of athletes.
