[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Nike Superfly Elite is the flagship of sprint spikes. Arguably one of the most popular spikes in all of track and field. With this Nike Super Elite review, I’m going to cover everything you need to know about the sprint spikes.
From all the specs and how they feel for all the various sprint events, so you can make an informed decision about the spikes before you purchase them.
Outsole
Since Nike moved to the webbed design for their spike plate, it’s one of the first things which jumps out at you.
It is an ingenious design allowing like to add zonal strength and flexibility and specific points of the spike plate, by adjusting the size of the holes.
With this design, Nike has managed to create a sprint spike which is not only comfortable but also offers excellent performance. Giving you unprecedented energy returned from the track.
I have seen some websites say that the pins are not removable. But that isn’t the case, as the Superfly Elite comes with 8 removable pins, which are strategically placed on the foot to provide you with maximum grip.
Upper
The upper is built with the Nikes Flyleaves technology, which produces a synthetic material which is ultra-breathable, Very thin, But moulds around the foot to provide a supportive locked-in feeling.
This is especially important when running flat out round the bend or curve, as your feet do not move around, Which is a very unsettling feeling if they do. Lucky you don’t have to worry about that with the shoes.
Despite it being very lightweight, it’s also durable. Which I know for myself is a significant deciding factor when choosing a pair of spikes. The last thing you want is to split the top part of the shoe only after a few months.
But with the Flyweave Material is robust, allowing you to run for many training sessions over many months before you have to worry about the shoes coming to the end of their life.
Weight
At only 5.3 ounces, It’s one of the lightest pairs of spikes on the market. Which is quite remarkable considering the support and rigidness you get from the shoe itself.
As a sprinter you always going to want a pair of spikes which are very light, So they don’t hold you back during any part of the race—but usually having something light and supportive doesn’t often go hand-in-hand. But somehow Nike has married these two factors very well together.
What They Feel like
One thing I like about the Nike Superfly elite spikes is that they are an all-round performer. What I mean by this is you can wear them from 60m up to 400m, Including the hurdle races.
They are one of the most comfortable pairs of sprint spikes I’ve ever worn. I find it very tricky for me to find a comfortable pair of spikes because I have quite narrow feet. But the Flyweave material does an outstanding job at wrapping around your foot, no matter how wide your feet are,
Nike Superfly Elite Review Conclusion
Here we’ve reached the conclusion of the Nike Superfly elite review.
Although these track spikes are relatively expensive, I would still consider them an extremely safe bet.
It’s because Nike has a proven track record of producing excellent spikes, Which gave been engineered from the ground up, to provide the best possible performance.
The spike plate is 2nd to none, and not only has excellent support where it’s needed, to propel you down the track as fast as possible. They are also very comfortable to wear for an extended period of time.
I would recommend these spikes to anyone wearing them from 60m up to 400m, even in both the sprint and 400m hurdles.
With the option of a white and black colour, there are some variants, In comparison to Adidas who only release their flagship spikes with one colour for a given year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
